Job Description

Surrey Heath Age Concern CIO is an independent local charity working to enhance the lives of older people in the Borough of Surrey Heath. We run a wonderful community café, The Rainbow Café, located in Albert Street, which is mostly staffed by our fantastic volunteer team and offers a warm, welcoming space for our local community.

We are super excited to be looking for a new Shift Supervisor to join our busy café team! The ideal candidate will be a warm, friendly, 'people person' and someone who enjoys being out in the community, engaging with local people for the benefit of the older people that use our services.

Our new Shift Supervisor will be supporting and managing our volunteer team and leading shifts in the café in the Cafe Manager’s absence. Catering or hospitality experience is essential, great communication skills are a must and experience of managing volunteers, voluntary work or working for a charity is desirable.

An engaging personality, sense of humour and kind nature are essential. This opportunity plays a significant role in reducing loneliness and isolation across the Surrey Heath Borough and is an incredibly rewarding role for the right candidate.

Start Date:- As soon as possible
Hours:- 6 hours per week with extra hours for holiday and sickness cover
Salary:- £10 p/h

• Café staff are required to undertake and pass a certificated online Health and Hygiene training course (paid for by SHAC).
• You will also be registered for free parking at the council car park when you are working the cafe.
• Rainbow Café apron will be provided at no cost.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Due to the vulnerable nature of the people, we support, Surrey Heath Age Concern CIO will require two references and a DBS check. This is an outline of roles and responsibilities and is subject to change at any time.
