Places Leisure Camberley – Senior Lifeguard
Job Description
KEY OBJECTIVES
1. To support and contribute to the company’s mission statement – ‘To create active places and healthy people’.
2. To oversee the work of the Lifeguards and to ensure the highest level of customer care is practiced.
3. To ensure the comfort and safety of all users of the Centre.
4. To undertake additional specific responsibilities.
K.O.1
1. To maintain vigilant supervision of pool users and ensure their safety at all times.
2. To administer first aid, carry out pool rescues and provide resuscitation as necessary.
3. To ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and Places for People Safe Manual.
4. To deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
5. To report any matter of concern to the Duty Manager immediately.
6. To carry out cleaning duties as necessary.
7. To wear the prescribed staff uniform at all times.
8. To carry out patrols of the Centre.
9. To prepare activity areas involving the setting up/dismantling of equipment.
10. To ensure that all Centre equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
11. To report any maintenance issues using the appropriate procedures.
12. To understand business needs and to help the site achieve "Excellent in Quest" & continue to improve current NPS score.
13. To assist the Duty Manager with any tasks involved in the operation of the Centre.
14. To maintain any suggested training requirements.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
1. To ensure that the Changing Village and Poolside are cleaned to an acceptable standard at all times. To devise cleaning rotas and create Lifeguard jobs lists as appropriate.
2. To ensure that equipment changeovers occur promptly and that set-ups and de-rigs comply with the Centre’s procedures.
3. To ensure that dry patrols occur frequently and that any remedial action arising from the patrols is carried out or reported to the appropriate Officer.
4. To carry out any additional duties as required by the line manager.
5. To act as a Trainee Duty Manager as required.
Health and Safety:
As a senior member of staff you are responsible for the safety and welfare of any staff under your direct control, and you must therefore have knowledge of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and relevant instructions to your area of work. Any matter which you consider requires attention in this respect is your responsibility to report following the correct procedures, or to the Health and Safety Manager. Copies of the current Health & Safety Policy and Safety Procedures are available in the Centre.
